Kourtney, Kim and Khloe are making their dash-dolly mark all over Hollywood and their latest venture is jewelry. We’re getting a vintage warrior goes glam vibe from the edgy collection and we’d really like to get our hands on a pair of the dangerously spiked earrings.

Kim and Khloe took to their blogs to express their giddy excitement about the collaboration with Virgins Saints & Angels that is inspired by their Armenian culture.

We can’t wait to shop the Kardashy line at Blue Bee, Sparkle Fred Segal and Nordstrom. But don’t get too eager; it will be a while before the line premieres. Say, in February at the 2010 Project Trade Show.

“Last week I did a spread for Oprah’s O magazine,” Kim writes on her official blog below a pic of her “new” hair. “O magazine has always been a magazine I read for inspiration. I can’t give away the concept just yet but it involved other reality stars. Trista [Sutter] from The Bachelorette, was there, American Idol judge Kara [DioGuardi], and a bunch more.”

NYE Rule No. 1: Blind fellow party-goers with your shine, sparkle, shimmer and/or bold color palette.

NYE Rule No. 2: Step outside of your comfort zone to maximize your glam factor. Options include big, teased hair, fake lashes, glittery or shimmery makeup, stilettos, a shorter hem line and big, sparkly jewelry.

While these two pointers can help guide your New Year’s Eve wardrobe choices every year, there are some styles I have spotted this year in particular…

Gold has found its way onto nearly every red carpet in the past month. This year’s gold, however, is more neutral and less saturated with color. Rosario Dawson’s short, asymmetrical golden gown would be lovely in almost any New Year’s Eve setting. Bijou Phillips also opts for a muted gold gown—hers with flirty ruffles.

You can also be a golden girl in canary yellow. I am absolutely in love with Eva Mendes’ strapless yellow gown with beads and gold details (pictured above). I can tell Mendes is fond of the color as she wore it in this chiffon, ruffled version—so bold and chic!

Other shades showing their colors this season are silver, blue and black—which never goes out of style! I am mesmerized by Marisa Tomei’s electric blue dress, which could light up any NYE party. Ciara looks amazing in silver with a touch of black. And Kate Winslett goes ultra glam in her little black dress with a sparkling strap detail!

However you decide to amp up your look this year, I hope all of you stay gold in 2009!

Fire Starter
Add a red belt, some patent-leather red shoes and a matching clutch, some red bangle bracelets and a red barrette and you have achieved the red trend of this fall. I would say red is the new black, but it seems to be more about adding red accents. You don’t want to find yourself swimming in a sea of crimson. Punk Up the Jam
Yes the ’80s are still in, and you can interpret the retro style in new ways. Wearing that same pair of jeans and shirt, add some spikes to your attire: Perhaps unbutton your shirt low enough to show off a mesh tank, and cinch it in with a studded belt. Skull rings are also popping up as well as biker-inspired boots. Make the look more feminine by wearing a pair of heels that sport harder-edged features like chains, studs, rope, crosses and even cuffs. Or you can go the more vintage Madonna look like Mena Suvari has done here.

Tuxedo Time
Menswear is totally hot right now. Add a skinny tie or even a chic bow tie to your black button-up (hint: a jewel tone will make it more feminine), a bag that takes cues from a man’s briefcase and accents of tweed or plaid. Driving gloves are also a nice option and sprinkling touches of sparkle such as a pin, earrings or a bracelet add that Katherine Hepburn-inspired class.

I picked these three fall looks because they are relatively interchangeable. You can mix your spiky boots with your menswear jacket, as you can see I have done in the photo above. Use accessories to own your outfit but make sure to edit your look—too much of a good thing is just that.
