Kim releases statement about the death of Michael Jackson

Kim released the following statement on her OFFICIAL website.

You guys may or may not know that I have grown up with the Jackson family since I was 13. I went to school with, and dated one of Michael’s nephews. This family is very near and dear to my heart and it breaks my heart to see people I love go through so much pain. The world has truly lost the greatest entertainer of all time. I want to say how incredibly saddened I am by Michael’s death. Music will never be the same.

I had my 14th birthday party at Neverland Ranch! I even helped throw Nicole Richie’s 13th birthday party there for her! It’s truly the most exciting place I have ever been in my entire life and those memories will live on forever in my heart. RIP MJ.

It’s A Fashionable Valentine’s for Kim and Reggie!

Kim and Reggie were photographed in LAX airport Friday, headed to New York to take in some fashin shows, as Kim previously reported on her website. Hopefully, she’ll update us on the inside fashion scoop! Don’t forget to take pics for us, Kim! (I’m sure she’s checking this site now for our requests – **wink**)

Tips and Tricks… The Basics of Makeup Brushes!

A quality make up brush is one accessory we underestimate!! Using the appropriate makeup brush is essential in achieving a flawless look like Kim’s!

According to Kim’s makeup artist, Stephen Moleski, you should shampoo and condition your brush prior to use to prevent shedding.

Stephen seems partial to Mac brushes when applying Kim’s makeup, so I’ll list some of the basic brushes and how they are used. Mac is one of my favorite line of brushes, but some other of my favorites are made by Bobbi Brown, Nars, and Sephora. The average prices range is from $22-$60, depending on the type of bristles you purchase.

Let’s start with the basics:

Kabuki Brush (this one is #50 from Sephora).

What it is:
This brush offers full coverage with a wide range of makeup, like mineral makeup, loose powder, bronzer, and blush. Kim’s makeup artist usues this type of brush to apply Kim’s foundation to provide a sheer natural look. Never apply the foundation directly to the brush as it makes it difficult to clean!

Large Powder Brush – Mac#150

What it is:

Full and dense for dusting loose or pressed powder on face or body. This brush is particularly good for blush application with soft fibers that form a full, rounded shape. After applying foundation, Stephen uses this brush to set the foundation by applying powder. Start from the forhead blending down towards the nose and face.

Eye Blending Brush – Mac #217

What it is:

For shading or blending of colour or creamy products. One of Kim’s favorite products is MAC paint in Bare Canvas for the eyes which creates a smooth, crease-free, slightly shiny, reflective look to the lid. Kim blends the paint over the lid with the blending brush.

These are a few basic brushes which I consider essential to get started. I’ll provide another “Tips and Tricks” update in the upcoming weeks with additional brushes and how they are used!!
